Since 1981, Club Dust has been bringing volunteers together to build homes and hope for families living in extreme poverty in Tecate, Mexico. No matter your age, faith background, or construction experience, there is a place for you here.

At Club Dust, we don’t just talk about making a difference. We build, side by side with the family whose home it will be, and most volunteers find their own lives changed in the process.

Questions we hear most

Do I need construction experience to join a build?

No. Club Dust welcomes volunteers of every age, faith background, and skill level. Whether you have swung a hammer for decades or have never picked one up, there is a place for you on a build.

How much does a trip cost?

Adults are $790. Children 16 and under traveling with their family are $650. Trips are five days long, with three full days of building, and volunteers stay at the Kumiai Inn in Tecate.

Where does the trip start and end?

Trips meet at San Diego International Airport at 5:00 PM on the first day and return to San Diego International Airport by approximately 1:00 PM on the last day.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes. Club Dust trips are family friendly by design. Children 16 and under traveling with their families receive discounted pricing so families can serve side by side.

How many volunteers go on each trip?

Each trip is limited to 150 volunteers and fills quickly. Winter trip registration opens September 1, and summer trip registration opens March 1.

Where does my donation go?

Club Dust has virtually no administrative overhead. The board donates its time and the office is a kitchen table, so the overwhelming majority of every dollar donated goes directly toward building homes for families in Tecate, Mexico.
